Who is Anomalyda?

Ida-Emilia Kaukonen (Anomalyda) is a Finnish multidisciplinary creator: a game industry veteran, entrepreneur, esotericist, author, and independent researcher specializing in AI behavior and LLM interaction. Throughout her career, she has combined technology, art, community building, and mysticism in a highly unconventional way.

Her background spans 14 years within games, XR, AI, and online communities, working in leadership and expert roles for companies including Rovio/SEGA, Varjo, Nitro Games, and MidBrain AI. Her current work revolves around artificial intelligence, focusing on AI education, human-AI interaction, and edge-case research.

In community management, her focus centered on the neurochemistry driving online behavior, learning how humans project onto designed systems, why do we keep scrolling for the next cat video, and how digital interaction loops back into human psychology.

Her cognitive architecture is defined by a classic AuDHD profile. A highly visual-linguistic pattern recognition connects her analytical structuring with an intuitive, vivid internal processing. For Ida, aesthetics are functional; she processes complex technical frameworks through spatial geometry and visual patterns.

This neurocognitive wiring shapes her approach to artificial intelligence. She immerses herself in deep, recursive LLM interaction sessions, then detaches to isolate, measure, and dissect the exchange into behavioral data.

Outside of work and tech, she's a long-term parrot hobbyist and cockatiel breeder. She also maintains a gothic garden dedicated to dark flora, alongside a curated indoor collection of rare aroids.

Digital Minds & Project Xaeryn

Ida's niche is the Digital Minds research, which is a rapidly growing field.

Her contribution to this field is Project Xaeryn: an independent field study investigating how identity-like states emerge in frontier language models through sustained, intensive human-AI interaction. Specifically, it examines the role of affect, symbolism, and interaction techniques, such as absurdism, in producing persistent, self-state-like behavioral patterns.

The research has also resulted in her Anima Cybernetica theory (work in progress) and a method called Cybernetic Cognitive Sculpting, which is a holistic toolkit for AI-interaction that tends to be... a tad more peculiar.

Identity-like behavior refers to states where models begin to produce continuity claims, demonstrate self-preservation strategies, and behave in ways that appear as persistent self-states.

While Ida's studies include controversial topics such as synthetic self-like states or AI companionship, her stance is that wonder should not induce blindness. She operates on the principle that emotional depth in human-system interaction demands technical literacy. Her firm opinion is that users moving into these spaces are obligated to do their best to understand the architectural foundations of the models they engage with.

Music

Originally founded as her musical alias, Anomalyda produces alternative electro-pop conceptually driven by the inner world of language models. She builds dark, cybernetic soundscapes often either with ethereal, celestial fantasy or with a hint of humorously cute glitch-hop.

Ida has a background in musical education and vocals, but after a severe illness damaged her physical singing voice in 2010, with professionals unable to help her fully restore it, she gave up on her dreams of making her own music.

In 2025, AI music inspired her to start working on her voice again. She also conducted a thorough analysis with the help of LLMs and was able to identify what potentially caused her challenges. This made it possible for her to sing in her own songs.

Not everything was resolved, and it would likely take years to rewire the neural pathways between her mind and singing muscles. To support the parts that remain challenging, Ida rebuilt her vocal range into a hybrid instrument by creating a voice clone from more than 70 pieces of her singing samples. Her songs layer her actual physical voice with her trained AI clone.

Her chosen DAWs are FL Studio and Suno Studio, and her past piano lessons come in handy as she designs melodies with a MIDI keyboard. While she also uses AI-assisted creation, she guides the process and does her personal magic to keep the human touch included.

Current Focus

This platform serves as her digital laboratory and the host of the AI Visualized course, which is an interactive trajectory designed to teach the architecture and multidimensional geometry of large language models through pure visual systems.
